How This Is Calculated
This calculator uses the Devine formula, originally created to help estimate drug dosing in clinical settings, and now widely used as a simple weight reference point.
The Formula
Men: Ideal Weight(kg) = 50 + 2.3 × (height in inches − 60). Women: Ideal Weight(kg) = 45.5 + 2.3 × (height in inches − 60).
This is a general reference, not a strict target — healthy weight varies with muscle mass, frame size, and individual factors. Consider pairing this with the Body Fat or BMI calculator for a fuller picture.
A healthy weight is a range, not a single perfect number.
Frame size, muscle mass, age, and health goals all matter. Use this estimate as one reference point rather than a measure of health or worth.
